Discover the future of education! The public is invited to join Decatur Public Schools #61 on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, for an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the brand-new Ellsworth Dansby Jr. Magnet School, proudly opening its doors for the 2025-2026 school year.
Ellsworth Dansby Jr. Magnet School (K-8th grade) provides a strong STEAM education, emphasizing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, and offers a curriculum that includes SAM Labs Studio Coding and zSpace (augmented virtual reality). Students wear uniforms and the program uses the RCA House System. Dansby provides a challenging learning environment in STEAM, which maximizes individual potential and ensures students are well-equipped to meet the challenges in the world around them.
